THE SCREAM EDVARD MUNCH.
Once I screamed,
across an ocean
From a shore to a forest
as I sat,
Toxic
on my sun splattered uplands.
And I played catch with planets
But didn’t drop one.
Now
they all orbit true.
In my poor life
I was a prince
With a ruby ring
on my arthritic hand.
And I owned
all I surveyed
But now you’re taking
my life away.
So I paint mandalas in the sand
Hoping you’ll be my
Reluctant witness.
But make haste
For the tide drives
all before it
Swift as a galloping horse.
