Green waves raised me.
Salty, primitive amniotic.
From flight see life in tiny fields.
Happiness takes, toe to finger.
One ocean, everywhere at once,
We are all sea creatures.
My cells sing a creation song but
I no long hear that tune.
Once we crawled out,
Shook off clouds of salt spray.
Were the dreams already there
Before first drops hit the ground.
Rays of sunlight,
Push deep into the ocean.
Not to wound.
Hazy columns of light
Waves to sandy floor.
Fish on sofas, climbing Everest,
Fine dining.
Waiting for cardiac arrest.
Since leaving the ocean
Some start to swim again.
I smile shyly, at familiar waves
They return the greeting
As family should.
